We, 26 students of the 3DS and 3ES and our two form teachers, spent one week in London to practise our English during language classes. In addition, we had the chance to get to know real Brits while staying with host families. Of course, we also had plenty of time to explore the vibrant capital of the UK.
Things we learnt about London:
- It doesn’t always rain – there were also sunny (and windy) days.
- The most important sights can be visited in just a few days … which means a lot of walking.
- When the flag is flying above Buckingham Palace, the King is at home – and he was!
- There are shopping opportunities all around the city.
- Tower Bridge: only the brave dare to walk on the glass floor.
- The London Eye is worth a visit, even if you are afraid of heights.
- The London Dungeon proves that sightseeing doesn’t always have to be a traditional guided tour.
During our stay, we visited Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Chinatown, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and many other famous places.
A trip to remember!
